Game details
Civilizations clash in the ancient world – take on the role of a leader of…
You are the leader of one of the 7 great cities of the Ancient World. In this board game, you gather resources, develop commercial routes, and affirm your military supremacy. Build your city and erect an architectural wonder which will transcend future times.
7 Wonders lasts three ages. In each age, you receive seven cards from a particular deck, choose one of those cards, then pass the remainder to an adjacent player. Players reveal their cards simultaneously, and resolve the cards immediately. You pay resources if needed or collect them from the pile. Players interact with each other in various ways. Once the round is resolved, you choose another card from the deck you were passed, and the process repeats. An age ends once each of you have six cards in play from that age. After three ages, the game ends.
You are playing simultaneously and each card is revealed right after being drafted. This means that you know which cards your neighbors are receiving and how their choices might affect what you are building. Cards are passed left-right-left over the three ages, so you need to keep an eye on the neighbors in both directions.
Play it again and again!
7 Wonders offers great re-playability. Each of the 7 Wonder cards (Player Boards) offers different advantages, so if you want to master the ancient world, you must learn to play each of the ancient cities. The 7 Wonder cards are also double-sided for even more variation and re-playability. Once you have mastered all the wonders of the base game, you can up the difficulty and vary the gameplay by adding one or more expansions. Check out the available 7 Wonders expansions: Leaders, Cities, Edifices, Armada.
